This is a locally-owned café, open since August 1998. Our strength lies in our commitment to serving the community the best we can every day. Our goals are to provide the best coffee in town, keep the café clean, and always put forth the effort to be the best. It is not an easy job. While this café is a “laid back” place for customers to sit, it requires a lot of running around behind the counter to make it that way. Café work goes far beyond making coffee. Everyone who works here does every little thing- a lot of cleaning and preparation is part of every shift of every day. This is all in addition to serving customers for an average of 5 hours straight. It can be physically and mentally exhausting sometimes.
We have had a very strong and stable crew since we opened, which is why the café runs so well. Staff turnover has been virtually non-existent. As members of the current staff move on, it is important for us to find people who can help keep up the standards that we've built over the years, as well as working well within the mindset that exists here. We treat each other with respect and consideration. Each of us pulls our own weight in order to get the job done and to be mindful of who has to take over after us. This kind of work ethic and approach is required of anyone who works here. Any one of the good people you see behind the counter can help you learn to make excellent coffee and teach you the job-specific ropes. What is important for you to bring to the job is a strong work ethic and the understanding that coworkers and customers deserve respect at all times.
